A few weeks ago I hosted the very first (of hopefully many!) Anne Casey Workshop. The back story of this is that I have always had a serious passion for small businesses. My entire working lifetime has been spent in small business, and I wouldn’t change that! I’ve seen the triumphs and the struggles and everything in between. When I was ready to venture out on my own, I was so fortunate to have a more comprehensive understanding of business ownership along with a lot of wonderful mentors to help me along the way. 

Milestone birthdays are a lot like New Year’s. Time is taken to reflect on the years before and dream for the years ahead. You make promises to yourself and all sorts of big plans. So, here are 30 things I should probably start doing now that I’m 30.

Wow, the Cylburn Arboretum is so pretty! It looks even better with Macy and Dave in it! I met up with them to shoot Macy’s maternity photos. She wore a beautiful floaty pink dress and Dave looked sharp in his navy suit and tie. The flowers were almost as stunning as they are, creating the perfect backdrop for the photos. Wait until you find out the name of their new baby. Appropriate to wear pink!

How is it August already?! I’ve been hearing that a lot this past week and have totally been feeling the same way. This summer has flown by! I sound like a cliche, but it’s true. With two kids, two businesses, and a workshop to plan, I’ve been going non-stop sun up to sun down.

I remember hearing about the first Kode with Klossy camp and I thought it was such an awesome idea. For those of you that aren’t familiar, Karlie Kloss (yes, THAT Karlie- the Victoria’s Secret Angel, engaged to Josh Kushner, cover model, I could go on) started KWK in 2014 as a way to introduce the world and language of computer coding to young girls.

The Tidewater Inn in Easton was the setting of Caroline and Travis’s classic and romantic wedding. I absolutely loved capturing their big day, especially with the lush greenery and brick background of the Inn. Even though the rain came, the day was absolutely perfect – and we managed to get some cute umbrella shots! 

I’ve always loved being able to take photos of clients at their home base – if one of their family members has a large property that they choose to use as their venue or, in this case, they have a beautiful waterfront home with gorgeous views of the water and a dock where we could shoot! Dan and Felicia chose to shoot their engagement session at their home in St. Mary’s county. I was so excited to work with them here not only because of the amazing view, but because it felt so much more special working with them in a place where they clearly felt at home. 

Are you a super-organized, type-A planner who has the details of their wedding planned out way in advance of their big day? If you are, great!! If not, you could benefit greatly from having a helping hand with your wedding planning.

Wedding days are filled with fleeting moments that you wish you could capture and keep forever. Truth is, there are simply too many smiles, reunions with distant relatives, corny best man jokes, and group hugs with your besties to keep in you mind forever. That’s where your wedding photographer comes in! I’m here to capture the moments from your wedding day that perfectly sum up the laughter, tears, and joy you share with your nearest and dearest. But, which of these moments should be on your ultimate shot list for the day? I have a few opinions about that, and would love to share them with you! 

In the ever-changing, fast-paced world we live in, it’s no wonder we often find ourselves requesting just a few more hours in a day. Truth is, no matter how much time we have, we always need just a little more to feel somewhat accomplished. We have access to so much information and convenience right at our fingertips, and sadly, most of us don’t use that power to it’s fullest potential! I may not be able to give the gift of time, but I certainly can share with you some wonderful time-saving tips that have worked wonders for me. All you need is a computer or smart-phone, and a little wifi wouldn’t hurt either!
