First Birthday Party and Cake Smash with Olivia

Aug 30, 2019

Is everyone ready for a cuteness overload? Good, then let’s dive into these photos of baby Olivia’s first birthday party, which happens to be Lily Pulitzer-themed! Or, should I say, Olivia’s “First Summer Soiree” – the official name for the party. I can’t think of a better theme for sweet Olivia’s first birthday, right down to the bright pink-colored cake pops!

First Birthday Party and Cake Smash with Olivia

Before Olivia was born, I featured her mother Macy and father Dave’s maternity shoot at Cylburn Arboretum which was absolutely gorgeous! In fact, I’ve been photographing this little family since forever, starting with their pregnancy announcement!

Macy is the creative genius behind Enchanting Events and Design, so she always has the perfect ideas for attire and, you guessed it, party styling! It comes as no surprise to me that she crafted such a beautiful and charming first birthday party for her little one. In fact, the party was such a hit that it was featured on Something Turquoise blog – check it out!

Macy used some amazing details to pull off the iconic Lily Pulitzer look for the party. She incorporated brightly-colored balloon displays, lots of greenery, classic Lily Pulitzer colors and hints of her favorite Pulitzer Prints, ‘Local Flavor.’ She also included a juice stand display as a nod to Lily’s successful start with a juice stand. One of my personal favorite touches was the selection of sugar cookies decorated with brightly-colored Pulitzer prints!

I’ll also share some photos from Olivia’s cake smash session below – we coordinated it into the Lily Pulitzer theme from the birthday party. We had such a great time with this mini shoot, and my own littles even joined in on the fun! I’m so blessed to continue to follow this little family as they grow together and capture some of their major life moments! Here’s to many more birthdays for little Olivia!
