Family Portrait Session with the Love Family

Happy New Year!! Today’s the last day to soak in all of the holiday-goodness from December and get to planning on all of your new year’s resolutions! Just between you and me, I chose traveling as one of my resolutions. 2019 is going to be an exciting year!

Today, I’m featuring a family portrait session for the Love family, whom I’ve known for several years and whose family photos I’ve shot for quite a while. We met through our sons’ pre-school, and now they even go to the same elementary school! As always, shooting their family as a friend feels like such a special opportunity to show their personalities and bonds as a family. Their family photos were shot at Hampton Mansion, a lovely historic home in a national park. The mix of greenery and old stone buildings give the photos a rustic touch.

Andra is amazing at pulling together outfits for family photos. Everyone coordinates so well together! Neutrals are such a classic and a great choice for photos, and she definitely took it up a notch by playing with textures. Look at that cute little velvet blazer!!

The boys and I had such a fun time taking their portraits – they seemed so comfortable and had a great time in front of the camera! With family portrait sessions, it’s nice to be able to goof around with the kids and keep everyone having fun so that the photos feel natural and effortless. Kiddos can be a little nervous while their getting photos taken, so keeping the experience fun is so important!

I love watching this family grow and thrive year after year! It’s so amazing to be able to see the boys grow and I can’t wait to compare these portraits to next year’s!
