Baltimore Engagement Session | Matt & Megan Riverside Engagement with Dogs

Jul 15, 2016

Matt and Megan are the sweetest couple! I met them over the winter and fell in love with them. Megan has the biggest smile, they’re getting married at one of my favorite venues, they’re dog lovers, and they’ve picked one of the best DJ’s around!

What’s even better was that I got to meet their pups at the engagement session! Dogs are such a fun addition to your session, but there area few ways to make it run smoothly with all of that extra energy. First of all, have an extra person on hand to help with the pup. As much of a dog lover as I Am, it’s pretty much impossible for me to hold the leash of an excited dog and take photos. Remember to bring water for them, as well. They’ll be so excite and panting! I usually utilize your four legged child for roughly the first fifteen to twenty minutes of your session. After that, we focus all of our efforts on just the two of you!  That’s the perfect time for an outfit change, too. Usually, your puppy babysitter will just take the dog home, but if you all rode together, I always suggest that they take them for a nice long walk while we finish the rest of your engagement session! Matt and Megan used all of these little pieces of advice, and it was super fun and easy having their dogs as a part of their session! Sometime clients really want their four legged family members in their photos but worry that it will be too stressful, but if you try out these tips you’ll have nothing but smiles and laughs!

What’s even more fun about Matt and Megan’s dog, Blue, is that she’s the flower girl! She’s the happiest dog and I can’t wait to see her rocking some sort of flower crown at the wedding! But, just as with the engagement session, she’ll be heading home shortly after their portrait time.

So let’s meet Matt and Megan! Ravens fans, doggie parents, sweethearts, and one of my awesome august weddings! We had a blast at their engagement session from the dogs, to the time I smacked myself in the face with my camera and went home with a fat lip, to the epic field that was the final backdrop for their engagement session.
