Michael and Auburn Married at The Cloister’s Castle

It seems like just yesterday that I photographed a wedding that is so near and dear to my heart. Michael and Auburn, two of my closest friends ( and one of them just happens to be my brother!) were married at The Cloisters Castle on a bright and crisp November day. After photographing a combined lifestyle and engagement session in their brand new first home just a few months before, it was an absolute joy to see the two of them so happy and in love on their big day.

Michael and I met through his sister, my longtime BFF whom I met when I started sixth grade. Since then, I’ve basically been adopted into their family and Michael is now my little “brother.” I was first introduced to Auburn during a family birthday party and I instantly loved her! I had a feeling that she might be the one. She and Michael are 100% perfect for each other. I’m so happy to see them come together and enjoy all of these beautiful life moments together!

I love so many things about this wedding. The color scheme with emerald green is absolutely gorgeous, especially mixed with shades of purple. Auburn’s Blush by Hayley Paige dress was so modern and yet romantic- and the stripes! I love a southern girl in stripes! Those layers of her skirt were perfect for twirling around and posing on the stone steps of The Cloisters Castle. Plus, I can never pass up an opportunity to take amazing photos on a spiral staircase! Between the spiral staircase and the stone architecture, the whole day felt like a fairy tale!

I’d also like to mention that I had an incredible team working with me that day. At 37 weeks pregnant on the back half of a double header wedding weekend, I certainly needed help! Surrounding myself with trustworthy professionals was the key to being super pregnant and also a member of the family. I was able to celebrate as a guest, while still handling all of my photographer duties.
