Leslie and Dan’s Pond View Farm Wedding

I can’t get enough of the contrast between purple wedding accents and the lush greenery of a rustic outdoor venue. Leslie and Dan’s wedding at Pond View Farm in White Hall, Maryland, was full of vibrant purples and green backdrops. It was the perfect summer day with just the right temperature, especially for August. I loved shooting every minute of it!

Typically, I meet my clients at a consult before we get started planning for their wedding but, because she was still going to school at St. Mary’s College in Southern Maryland, we talked over the phone. We first met the day of their engagement shoot in historic St. Mary’s City where we spent the day chasing the perfect light and finding the best secluded backdrops for their engagement photos.

Leslie and Dan have been together forever – since they met in high school. Their wedding was steeped in thoughtful, personal touches. Many of the planning was done by friends and family, and Leslie wore gorgeous heirloom jewelry with her classic ball gown. Her mother even put together the handmade centerpieces! Leslie and Dan exchanged letters before the ceremony, and Leslie did an adorable first look with her dad. There were so many perfect special little moments from their wedding!

I absolutely loved the colors and style of the bridal party. Leslie’s wedding gown and hair were timeless. Even her “something blue” shoes were classic and elegant. The different tones of purple that the bridesmaids wore blended perfectly and added more interest than just one color would have. One of my favorite touches was the use of succulents in the bridal party bouquets!
