Nick & Sierra Rustic Engagement Session | Baltimore Wedding Photographer

Apr 19, 2017

It was a steaming HOT day for Sierra and Nick’s engagement session!! We were roasting in the 95-degree heat, but we didn’t let that stop us! Nick and Sierra wanted to have their engagement photographs taken on a beautiful piece of property in Calvert County. Their family owned this property so Sierra and Nick knew that it would be the PERFECT spot and totally unique to them.

As gorgeous as this field was, it was crawling with spiders and I’m sure there were snakes lurking! Yikes!! Sierra brought a beautiful quilt made by her great grandmother to use in their session.  I’m a sucker for little details and heirlooms, and I was in LOVE with this quilt! I always encourage couples to bring sentimental props to their engagement session. I know that Sierra and Nick will be sharing these photos and that quilt with their future kids and grandkids.

Nick and Sierra also brought along Dixie, their sweet dog! It was so nice meeting her and she was SO photogenic. I met them a few miles away from the property and Nick drove the rest of the way. Riding in the back of the truck with Dixie was definitely a highlight of my day! Dixie was also the flower girl in their wedding and she was so precious! She also covered the inside of my Jeep with muddy paw prints, but that’s another story for another day 😉

Sierra is a nurse and Nick is a firefighter, which means they’re a match made in heaven! You can totally see how much Nick and Sierra adore each other. They’re an active couple and always seem like they’re on the go! Whether they’re washing vehicles at the firehouse, heading out on a hike with the pup, or getting their boat in the water, they have a great time just doing life together. Nick and Sierra, thank you for letting me capture this amazing day for you!
