I started my own wedding photography business because I love romance! It’s SO inspirational to meet couples that finally found their soul mate. And then they choose ME to help capture one of the most important days of their lives! It’s a job I don’t take lightly folks 😉 Today I’m telling you about how I was involved in a surprise proposal. You might have read about it on Love Inc.! Jenna and Megan are an adorable couple and live in Federal Hill. Jenna took a leap of faith and moved to Maryland to be with Megan after she graduated college. They both knew they had found THE one and you can clearly see how in love they are! I met Megan at my son’s school school; she’s an after school teacher. One day when I was picking up Brody from school, Megan pulled me aside and asked if photographing a proposal was ‘a thing’.  Heck yes, it is! I couldn’t contain my excitement! I’ve been dreaming of photographing a proposal so when Megan gave me the opportunity I was THRILLED! Megan created the perfect way to surprise Jenna. She convinced Jenna that they were going to send Christmas cards this year and that I had one last spot to squeeze them in!

Jenna and Megan trekked through the ice and bundled up for the cold December day.  Megan and Jenna frequent a local park in Federal Hill, which was the PERFECT place for a proposal. First, I directed them through some basic couples poses. I could totally feel the emotion and love between them. I couldn’t wait to see Jenna’s face when Megan surprised her! I told them both to stand back to back. And then on the count of three, they would turn around and just do whatever felt natural. I could see how nervous and excited Megan was. I counted to three and watched Megan drop to one knee. Jenna was instantly filled with emotion and she was SO surprised! The cherry on top was that Megan had Jenna’s family holding signs saying, “Will You Marry Me?” at the bottom of the hill. Megan knew she wanted to have Jenna’s family there to celebrate. Jenna’s family came all the way from New Jersey, too! After a lot of happy tears and hugs, Megan and Jenna popped open some champagne to celebrate. They moved over to their favorite spot, Little Havana, to continue the celebration and get warmed up!
