Annapolis Photographer Mentoring Session | Alexandra Kent Photography ]

Mar 24, 2017

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting with Alexandra Kent for a mentoring session. Folks, this girl is going places!! I started mentoring sessions because I truly believe in following your passions in life. And let me tell you, Alex is eager to enhance and expand her photography career.  She’s a bubbly, super sweet photographer serving the Annapolis area. She loves Annapolis mainly for the nautical vibe (don’t we all?!). Alex knew there can be challenges transitioning from portrait to wedding photography so she sent me an email and we grabbed a cup of coffee and got down to business at City Dock Cafe!

At a young age, Alex picked up her first camera. From elementary school and on, her love of photography blossomed. She works at a summer camp on Kent Island photographing the campers. Last fall Alex shot her first wedding and that began her love affair with wedding photography! In her very first email to me she told me that wedding photography was definitely her jam and she was just head-over-heels in love with it! I feel ya, friend, I really do! <3

Alex and I sipped coffee and set some goals. We discussed how to get new clients, marketing strategies, and how to book weddings. Alex was immediately filled with enthusiasm as we discussed all these details. I helped her come up with ways to get new clients and expand her portfolio. I know she does great work, but the rest of the world needs to know too! After we got a game plan together, we stepped outside to shoot some new head shots! NEVER underestimate the power of a good head shot. I firmly believe you are the face of your business and it’s so much easier to connect with clients when they know you as a real person!

So my Annapolis friends, send Alex some love if you need her services! And if you’re struggling with “the next step” in YOUR business, let’s meet for some coffee to develop a plan! Let ME be that person 🙂 I want to see your business succeed with flying colors! And no, you don’t have to be a photographer! I’ve mentored bloggers, jewelry designers, and wedding planners, too!
