+ How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?

Photographers typically book 12 -18 months in advance. The closer it is to your wedding date, the harder it will be to secure your first choice photographer! If they aren’t available, ask for a reference! I know several photographers that I know will take good care of you for your wedding.

+ How do I make sure I'll look great in my wedding photos?

Just relax! Easier said than done, right? This is where the engagement session comes in to play. It’s so important for your wedding photographer to shoot your engagement session. This is how you learn their shooting style and posing! The engagement session is as important to you as it is to the photographer. It's sort of like the first date! We'll get to know eachother a little better, share some laughs, and have fun! I won't feel like a total stranger showing up the morning of your wedding.

+ What's a first look? Why should I do it?

The First Look is the time before the ceremony when the bride and groom see each other for the first time. It’s one of my FAVORITE parts of the wedding day and so many of my couples choose to do it. It’s so nice to be able to spend a quiet moment with your soon to be husband/wife. The photographs from that moment are so sweet and full of emotion! You also get a little more portrait time this way, and you can never have too many wedding portraits!

+ How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?

Online galleries are uploaded within sixty days of your wedding. I post sneak peeks in the days and weeks following your big day! Make sure to tag yourselves!

+ Do we need to feed you at the reception?

In a word, please! Feeding me will ensure that I stay cheerful, energized, and that I don’t get hangry! I always eat at the same time as guests since no one wants to see a photo of themselves with a mouth full of mashed potatoes.

+ I keep hearing about 'unplugged weddings.'What does that mean?

An unplugged wedding is when the couple requests that all guests leave their cameras at home and just be present in the moment. It seems like everyone has a smart phone or iPad these days and they’re constantly taking photos! Kindly ask your friends and family to let your professional photographer capture your wedding so they can dance/laugh/cry/celebrate!

+ Do you bring back-up equipment, just in case?

ABSOLUTELY. I’m an over-packer. I carry a more than enough lenses and camera bodies, an unusual amount of batteries, and enough memory cards to photograph your wedding, honeymoon, and the first 5 years of your marriage! Kidding, sort of... ;)
