Boudoir photos are fun to take and empowering to have. However,  it doesn't always feel that way in the moment. Feeling comfortable in front of someone you don't know very well, especially someone with a camera can feel hard.

I definitely want you to walk away from your shoot feeling beautiful, sexy, and confident! Here are my top tips and tricks to feel completely at ease at all moments in your boudoir shoot.

Pick the right photographer

This one is so important! Pick someone you know you’re going to be comfortable with. Maybe someone who worked with you for your engagement or wedding photos or is just an all-around awesome person who would love to help you get your perfect boudoir shot!

Bring something of your partners

Remind yourself who is going to see this! Pose in an old t-shirt that smells like them or give your shoot a sporty spin with a baseball cap. Pull up their photo on your phone and imagine them in the room with you.

Have a vision

When you’re bringing something to life that you’ve imagined, it give you something to focus on other than how uncomfortable you feel at the beginning! Before your shoot, consider what you want the end result to look like. That way you’re working toward something, and you can imagine how adorable the end product is going to look.

Accept yourself

I know, easier said than done right? But hi, we’re never gonna look like the girls in the magazines. The girls in the magazines don’t even look like the girls in the magazine! Take a breath. This is your body, and it’s beautiful and it’s doing everything it can to keep you alives. Be nice to it!

Support Group

When in doubt bring a friend! If you feel like you definitely won’t be comfy with a stranger, no matter who it is, bring a friend for moral support After all, your bestie will be honest with you about how great you look!

Laugh it Off

Okay so it’s weird. Life gets weird, and messy, and crazy. Lean into it! Laugh about how strange life is sometimes and how you feel a little uncomfy in the moment. Laughing pictures are great pictures, and once you start laughing you feel better!

“Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of fear.”

Don’t let the fear of being uncomfortable hold you back from getting the photographs you’ve dreamed of. You got this girl!
