A few weeks ago I hosted the very first (of hopefully many!) Anne Casey Workshop. The back story of this is that I have always had a serious passion for small businesses. My entire working lifetime has been spent in small business, and I wouldn't change that! I've seen the triumphs and the struggles and everything in between. When I was ready to venture out on my own, I was so fortunate to have a more comprehensive understanding of business ownership along with a lot of wonderful mentors to help me along the way.

Milestone birthdays are a lot like New Year's. Time is taken to reflect on the years before and dream for the years ahead. You make promises to yourself and all sorts of big plans. So, here are 30 things I should probably start doing now that I'm 30.
Wow, the Cylburn Arboretum is so pretty! It looks even better with Macy and Dave in it! I met up with them to shoot Macy’s maternity photos. She wore a beautiful floaty pink dress and Dave looked sharp in his navy suit and tie. The flowers were almost as stunning as they are, creating the perfect backdrop for the photos. Wait until you find out the name of their new baby. Appropriate to wear pink!
How is it August already?! I've been hearing that a lot this past week and have totally been feeling the same way. This summer has flown by! I sound like a cliche, but it's true. With two kids, two businesses, and a workshop to plan, I've been going non-stop sun up to sun down.
I remember hearing about the first Kode with Klossy camp and I thought it was such an awesome idea. For those of you that aren't familiar, Karlie Kloss (yes, THAT Karlie- the Victoria's Secret Angel, engaged to Josh Kushner, cover model, I could go on) started KWK in 2014 as a way to introduce the world and language of computer coding to young girls.
The Tidewater Inn in Easton was the setting of Caroline and Travis's classic and romantic wedding. I absolutely loved capturing their big day, especially with the lush greenery and brick background of the Inn. Even though the rain came, the day was absolutely perfect - and we managed to get some cute umbrella shots!
I've always loved being able to take photos of clients at their home base - if one of their family members has a large property that they choose to use as their venue or, in this case, they have a beautiful waterfront home with gorgeous views of the water and a dock where we could shoot! Dan and Felicia chose to shoot their engagement session at their home in St. Mary's county. I was so excited to work with them here not only because of the amazing view, but because it felt so much more special working with them in a place where they clearly felt at home.
Are you a super-organized, type-A planner who has the details of their wedding planned out way in advance of their big day? If you are, great!! If not, you could benefit greatly from having a helping hand with your wedding planning.
Wedding days are filled with fleeting moments that you wish you could capture and keep forever. Truth is, there are simply too many smiles, reunions with distant relatives, corny best man jokes, and group hugs with your besties to keep in you mind forever. That's where your wedding photographer comes in! I'm here to capture the moments from your wedding day that perfectly sum up the laughter, tears, and joy you share with your nearest and dearest. But, which of these moments should be on your ultimate shot list for the day? I have a few opinions about that, and would love to share them with you!
In the ever-changing, fast-paced world we live in, it’s no wonder we often find ourselves requesting just a few more hours in a day. Truth is, no matter how much time we have, we always need just a little more to feel somewhat accomplished. We have access to so much information and convenience right at our fingertips, and sadly, most of us don’t use that power to it’s fullest potential! I may not be able to give the gift of time, but I certainly can share with you some wonderful time-saving tips that have worked wonders for me. All you need is a computer or smart-phone, and a little wifi wouldn't hurt either!
Wedding days are always full of surprises. As much as we all hope a wedding day will go off without a hitch, there's always a chance you might need a plan B to get you through a sticky situation! I always pack some essentials for weddings I cover, so I love when brides and bridesmaids bring their own emergency kits to get them through the day! It’s always a great idea to pack a wedding day emergency kit JUST in case you hit a last-minute snag on your wedding day!
I’ve lived the entrepreneurial dream (insert sarcasm). I was a single mom, working three jobs, and juggling my dream of wedding photography on the side. Through some struggles, uphill battles, amazing people in my corner and some tough lessons, I’m finally where I want to be – working full-time as a creative entrepreneur and living my passion every day.
Your wedding day timeline is the most important tool for vendors to keep your wedding day running as smoothly as can be! From a photographer's perspective, the timeline is crucial to keeping the perfect times for the photos you want to capture during your big day like bride and groom portraits, getting ready shots, family portraits, and bridal party photos. I broke down the shots that most couples want to be taken during their big day, with some tips for how to stay on track and not fall behind in the wedding timeline!
At the beginning of each year, the Be More Inspired Wedding Studio hosts a Bubbly Soiree, an intimate get together for brides and their fiances to get to know the partner wedding vendors at Be More Inspired and (what else?) sip bubbly! Throughout the night, Adam from Jamology DJ services announced the winners of the several giveaways we offered to guests, including a free wedding dress from K&B Bridals, a free cruise from Travelworks International, and discounts on photography services from yours truly!
Life around here has been going and going and going lately! I guess that's what happens after a winter of hibernating with a new baby. Once spring rolls around- you're in full swing! For photographers, spring means engagement sessions, family shoots, and the start of wedding season. For moms, it means end of the school year activities, assemblies, field trips, and summer prep!
For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m a huge Joanna Gaines fan. My perfect Friday night consists of my couch and an endless supply of Fixer Upper re-runs. Recently I spent an amazing afternoon shooting a lifestyle home session with the Baileys, Baltimore's cutest couple and owners of a home that looks like it was styled by Joanna herself!
Last week, we had a little heart to heart about why you should schedule an engagement session with your wedding photographer. Now that you know all my opinions about why it’s such an awesome thing to do with your fiance, I’d love to chat about what you should plan on wearing during your session so you walk away absolutely loving your engagement photos!
I’ve made your Mothers Day shopping really easy this year! Here’s a quick gift guide with some of my favorite things (all available on Amazon) that moms are sure to love!
Weddings are about more than coordinating every last detail, assembling the perfect vendor team to execute your big day, and finding just the right color scheme to pull every piece together. More than anything, your wedding should be the best representation of who you and your fiance are and should celebrate your relationship and the life you want to live together. What better way to celebrate than scheduling an engagement session?!
Have you ever had an idea pop into your head that just feels SO right? You can't stop thinking about it and just know that you have to put it into action? For a long time this was never on my radar. I never pictured myself doing this. But, that feeling didn't last forever and on that note...
