It’s so important to keep these photos safe and cherished throughout the years to come, so how do you store and protect them? I’ll show you some options you can use to store your wedding photos and keep them safe and secure!
Just another manic Monday…. ;-) That song is stuck in my head and now it’s probably stuck in your head, too! How did you feel about the Superbowl last night? Such a polarizing event! A little recap on our lives lately is here for you!
Brr, is it summer yet? Personally, I am so ready to say bye Felicia to this polar vortex thing. It is most definitely still cozy-up-by-the-fire weather! While you’re making friends with your couch, take a peek through Ashley and Dustin’s family portraits with their new son, Ethan!
The new year always brings along a lot of reflection. In this quieter time of the year, I get a few extra moments to reflect on and appreciate all sorts of things! Lately, I’ve been thinking about the relationships in my life. I can't stress enough how important it is to surround yourself with the right people!
It seems like just yesterday that I photographed a wedding that is so near and dear to my heart. Michael and Auburn, two of my closest friends ( and one of them just happens to be my brother!) were married at The Cloisters Castle on a bright and crisp November day. After photographing a combined lifestyle and engagement session in their brand new first home just a few months before, it was an absolute joy to see the two of them so happy and in love on their big day.
Take me back to Assateague Island! This seaside engagement session makes my heart sing! Not only do these engagement photos bring a little bit of warmth to this cold January weather, they remind me of how much fun Anna and her fiance Rob were to work with. Anna’s smile is infectious and it’s impossible not to smile and laugh right along with her! She and Rob were having so much fun roaming around Assateague Island that I almost felt like I was the third-wheel on a really fun date.
You know how, after the start of every new year, your goals of getting to the gym more often are met with going to the gym and seeing a packed parking lot full of cars? That’s the moment when you realize that everyone’s wanting to get the most out of this new year. Everyone’s jumping right into their 2019 goals right out of the gate, and I’m no exception! These goals have been weighing pretty heavily on my mind lately - where do I want to be this time next year? How do I want to grow as a person, and as a photographer? I know I’m not alone here, so I’m gonna share with you my thought process for making 2019 the best year yet!
Happy New Year!! Today’s the last day to soak in all of the holiday-goodness from December and get to planning on all of your new year’s resolutions! Just between you and me, I chose traveling as one of my resolutions. 2019 is going to be an exciting year!
The special moments of your wedding day start way before your ceremony. Start the day off with some unforgettable moments during your getting ready time with your girls! Five years from the big day, you’ll want to look through these moments and remember how that exciting mix of emotions felt - and you’ll need some pointers on how to make these images in your photo album special!
Hi guys! I’m so excited to share photos of a very special family with you guys! As the holidays approach we’re all going to be thinking more and more about getting those holiday shots done for our cards, but one family already has that all taken care of! I met the Workman family a few years ago and now I do family portraits for them almost every year! It’s so fun to see their family grow over time- isn’t their new daughter so cute?
Hi! Today I am so excited share with you something a little bit different. We’re taking a little sneak peek at Easter's first birthday! First off, what a super cute name right? I feel like it’s not one I’ve heard very often, which is awesome. It’s an adorable name! An adorable name for such an adorable little girl. I could not get over her curls or her big blue eyes. Doesn’t she look just like her mama?
Boudoir photos are fun to take and empowering to have. However, it doesn't always feel that way in the moment. Feeling comfortable in front of someone you don't know very well, especially someone with a camera can feel hard.
I definitely want you to feel confident! Here are my top tips and tricks for the perfect no-stress shot!
These days most people get wedding photos. Most people get engagement photos too. They’re beautiful moments that only once in a lifetime! Have you considered though, getting something a little more special?
That’s right, I’m talking about boudoir shots! Boudoir shots are definitely something to consider in the run-up to your big day
A few weeks ago I hosted the very first (of hopefully many!) Anne Casey Workshop. The back story of this is that I have always had a serious passion for small businesses. My entire working lifetime has been spent in small business, and I wouldn't change that! I've seen the triumphs and the struggles and everything in between. When I was ready to venture out on my own, I was so fortunate to have a more comprehensive understanding of business ownership along with a lot of wonderful mentors to help me along the way.
Milestone birthdays are a lot like New Year's. Time is taken to reflect on the years before and dream for the years ahead. You make promises to yourself and all sorts of big plans. So, here are 30 things I should probably start doing now that I'm 30.
Wow, the Cylburn Arboretum is so pretty! It looks even better with Macy and Dave in it! I met up with them to shoot Macy’s maternity photos. She wore a beautiful floaty pink dress and Dave looked sharp in his navy suit and tie. The flowers were almost as stunning as they are, creating the perfect backdrop for the photos. Wait until you find out the name of their new baby. Appropriate to wear pink!
How is it August already?! I've been hearing that a lot this past week and have totally been feeling the same way. This summer has flown by! I sound like a cliche, but it's true. With two kids, two businesses, and a workshop to plan, I've been going non-stop sun up to sun down.
I remember hearing about the first Kode with Klossy camp and I thought it was such an awesome idea. For those of you that aren't familiar, Karlie Kloss (yes, THAT Karlie- the Victoria's Secret Angel, engaged to Josh Kushner, cover model, I could go on) started KWK in 2014 as a way to introduce the world and language of computer coding to young girls.
The Tidewater Inn in Easton was the setting of Caroline and Travis's classic and romantic wedding. I absolutely loved capturing their big day, especially with the lush greenery and brick background of the Inn. Even though the rain came, the day was absolutely perfect - and we managed to get some cute umbrella shots!
I've always loved being able to take photos of clients at their home base - if one of their family members has a large property that they choose to use as their venue or, in this case, they have a beautiful waterfront home with gorgeous views of the water and a dock where we could shoot! Dan and Felicia chose to shoot their engagement session at their home in St. Mary's county. I was so excited to work with them here not only because of the amazing view, but because it felt so much more special working with them in a place where they clearly felt at home.
Are you a super-organized, type-A planner who has the details of their wedding planned out way in advance of their big day? If you are, great!! If not, you could benefit greatly from having a helping hand with your wedding planning.
Wedding days are filled with fleeting moments that you wish you could capture and keep forever. Truth is, there are simply too many smiles, reunions with distant relatives, corny best man jokes, and group hugs with your besties to keep in you mind forever. That's where your wedding photographer comes in! I'm here to capture the moments from your wedding day that perfectly sum up the laughter, tears, and joy you share with your nearest and dearest. But, which of these moments should be on your ultimate shot list for the day? I have a few opinions about that, and would love to share them with you!
In the ever-changing, fast-paced world we live in, it’s no wonder we often find ourselves requesting just a few more hours in a day. Truth is, no matter how much time we have, we always need just a little more to feel somewhat accomplished. We have access to so much information and convenience right at our fingertips, and sadly, most of us don’t use that power to it’s fullest potential! I may not be able to give the gift of time, but I certainly can share with you some wonderful time-saving tips that have worked wonders for me. All you need is a computer or smart-phone, and a little wifi wouldn't hurt either!
Wedding days are always full of surprises. As much as we all hope a wedding day will go off without a hitch, there's always a chance you might need a plan B to get you through a sticky situation! I always pack some essentials for weddings I cover, so I love when brides and bridesmaids bring their own emergency kits to get them through the day! It’s always a great idea to pack a wedding day emergency kit JUST in case you hit a last-minute snag on your wedding day!
I’ve lived the entrepreneurial dream (insert sarcasm). I was a single mom, working three jobs, and juggling my dream of wedding photography on the side. Through some struggles, uphill battles, amazing people in my corner and some tough lessons, I’m finally where I want to be – working full-time as a creative entrepreneur and living my passion every day.
Your wedding day timeline is the most important tool for vendors to keep your wedding day running as smoothly as can be! From a photographer's perspective, the timeline is crucial to keeping the perfect times for the photos you want to capture during your big day like bride and groom portraits, getting ready shots, family portraits, and bridal party photos. I broke down the shots that most couples want to be taken during their big day, with some tips for how to stay on track and not fall behind in the wedding timeline!
At the beginning of each year, the Be More Inspired Wedding Studio hosts a Bubbly Soiree, an intimate get together for brides and their fiances to get to know the partner wedding vendors at Be More Inspired and (what else?) sip bubbly! Throughout the night, Adam from Jamology DJ services announced the winners of the several giveaways we offered to guests, including a free wedding dress from K&B Bridals, a free cruise from Travelworks International, and discounts on photography services from yours truly!
Life around here has been going and going and going lately! I guess that's what happens after a winter of hibernating with a new baby. Once spring rolls around- you're in full swing! For photographers, spring means engagement sessions, family shoots, and the start of wedding season. For moms, it means end of the school year activities, assemblies, field trips, and summer prep!
For anyone who doesn’t know, I’m a huge Joanna Gaines fan. My perfect Friday night consists of my couch and an endless supply of Fixer Upper re-runs. Recently I spent an amazing afternoon shooting a lifestyle home session with the Baileys, Baltimore's cutest couple and owners of a home that looks like it was styled by Joanna herself!
Last week, we had a little heart to heart about why you should schedule an engagement session with your wedding photographer. Now that you know all my opinions about why it’s such an awesome thing to do with your fiance, I’d love to chat about what you should plan on wearing during your session so you walk away absolutely loving your engagement photos!
Weddings are about more than coordinating every last detail, assembling the perfect vendor team to execute your big day, and finding just the right color scheme to pull every piece together. More than anything, your wedding should be the best representation of who you and your fiance are and should celebrate your relationship and the life you want to live together. What better way to celebrate than scheduling an engagement session?!
Have you ever had an idea pop into your head that just feels SO right? You can't stop thinking about it and just know that you have to put it into action? For a long time this was never on my radar. I never pictured myself doing this. But, that feeling didn't last forever and on that note...
I can't tell you how much I love living in Baltimore. Between the culture, restaurant scene, and tons of destination spots only a short drive away, you can always find fun and new things to get into with your tribe.
How are my fellow work-at-home boss lady mamas doing?! Are you feeling energized, organized, and completely on top of every little detail required to make a family, home, and business run smoothly? No? Good. Neither am I! Let's just face the reality of the nearly impossible. It's hard work. All of it!
Waking up on April the 9th and the meteorologist is still talking about freezing temperatures. I just can't take it anymore! It looks like we'll hit 70 degrees by Thursday, though! Here's what's been going on in my part of the world!
This new season as a mother of two certainly takes some getting used to! Baby feedings, diapers, and snuggles mixed with homework, chores, and legos on the floor is not for the faint at heart. Dylan is 3 months old now and I'm starting to get into a groove that works for our family. Now to get into a groove that works for work! So here's a recap of life in my house lately!
I'm extremely excited to share one of my favorite weddings, Will and Theresa's big day at Martin's West! Will and Theresa are absolutely perfect for each other. Both die-hard Harry Potter fans, Will and Theresa got engaged at Hogwarts! These two self-proclaimed nerds are clearly in love and are each other's perfect match!
I spent a lovely fall day in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore capturing the magic of Daniel and Lindsey's classic wedding at the Star Spangle Flag House Museum, right on the harbor. The sun was shining and the trees were turning beautiful colors for Lindsey and Dan's big day!
All of this frigid January weather with its snowstorms and bitter cold spurts makes me wish we were still in the season of corn mazes, pumpkin patches, and drinking warm apple cider in cozy sweaters. Kristan and Tyler's engagement session at the Baltimore County Agricultural Center seemed like the perfect shoot to feature on the blog for those of you who want to daydream about fall, and possibly pick up some of your own ideas about what you might want for your engagement photos!
Emily and Matt's wedding at the Baltimore Museum of Art was sophisticated and classic, from Emily's stunning Sareh Nouri gown to the ornate stone steps of their venue. Their wedding was the perfect black tie affair, complete with a band and even a live painter painting the reception throughout the night! Having a live painter paint during the reception was such a unique way of capturing the night and paired perfectly with the art museum venue.
Baltimore sweethearts Lindsay and Lance, along with their pup Rico, joined me in Fells Point for a waterfront engagement session! With the sun and the water popping against the historic, worn brick buildings and streets, we had the best time exploring the historic Baltimore neighborhood.
With Christmas being right around the corner and winter officially in full swing, I’ve been reminiscing about summer and all of the great projects I worked on with clients on those sunny, warm days! One of my absolute favorites is my day in Annapolis with Apollos and Nicole.
I can't get enough of the contrast between purple wedding accents and the lush greenery of a rustic outdoor venue. Leslie and Dan's wedding at Pond View Farm in White Hall, Maryland, was full of vibrant purples and green backdrops. It was the perfect summer day with just the right temperature, especially for August. I loved shooting every minute of it!
Stephanie and Jon are such an adventure-loving couple. They love being outdoors so much that for one of their first dates, they rode bikes on the NCR trail. Because of their history with the NCR trail, Stephanie and Jon decided to shoot their engagement photos there! We had a blast adventuring on the trail and capturing some amazing shots of Stephanie and Jon with their adorable Boston Terrier Ginny during the sunny fall afternoon.
With Veteran's Day having just passed, it seemed like a great time to share Shawn and Marisa's wedding at the Star Spangled Flag House Museum in Baltimore! The red, white, and blue backdrop of the museum seemed like such a fitting place for these two lovebirds to tie the knot.
Travis is such a big part of my life (pun intended) that I thought I really ought to share a little more about him! Travis came to us almost four years ago in December. I have ALWAYS been a dog person and have had dogs literally my entire life. I've had english bulldogs, labs, and mutts, but Travis is my first mastiff! And let me tell you, I am completely infatuated with him!
Just in time for Halloween, it's finally starting to feel like fall in Maryland! I've been incredibly busy with doubleheader wedding weekends, attending the AKP retreat in Baltimore, and preparing for the newest member of our little family, but I'm so excited for spending my in-between moments indulging in all things fall - I'm talking pumpkin spice, hot apple ciders, snuggling by the fireplace...enjoying the sweater weather season while I can.
Casey and Nate tied the knot at one of my new favorite venues in Lancaster, the Cork Factory Hotel! Lancaster is quickly becoming a popular area for brides looking for rustic wedding venues. This place had everything - exposed brick, aged wood, and a completely open space with vaulted ceilings for their beautiful ceremony and reception. The little details of the wedding were perfect for the space, from the hanging flowers and chandeliers to the ornate, oversized Edison light bulbs incorporated into the decor. Everywhere you looked, Casey and Nate's wedding was gorgeous!
Mike and Ashley were the lucky winners of the Be More Inspired Wedding Studio Ultimate Wedding Giveaway last January and were married at the SwingTime Ballroom in Hydes, Maryland! From the bride’s gorgeous lace dress with custom sleeves to the Walking Dead cake, Mike and Ashley’s wedding was a blast!
I admire the ambition you both have towards following your dreams. An idea will pop into your heads and if it feels right, you make the next move. Whatever obstacles are in your way, you always overcome them with grace. I think everyone can learn from your positivity and determination. That houseboat that didn't float, that farm that you waited and waited for, and those silos that didn't look like much from the outside, but you had vision and now it's more than you ever could have imagined. You've created a brand, a lifestyle, and you've set an example that if you put your mind to it and stay true to yourselves, you can accomplish anything you dream up.
The sprawling hills of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania were the perfect backdrop for Katelynne and Jacob's wedding day! Between taking the fun and goofy shots of the bridal party to capturing the beautiful details of Katelynne's dress and flowers, it was a super fun day and I couldn't be happier for Katelynne and Jacob!
I don't think it could get any cuter than this shoot for sisters Brooke and Morgan and their dogs Scarlet, Gus and Milo! I've known Brooke and Morgan for years while their dad and I were volunteer firefighters together. Brooke and I also both wore the Ms. Fire Prevention crown! I even owe the adoption of our dog, Travis, to Brooke. Brooke is a Virginia Tech grad who works in the agricultural field and Morgan is a women's soccer coach at Loyola. I was over the moon when they reached out to take some photos with their adorable pups!
Fells Point in Baltimore is such a dynamic and exciting place to shoot engagement sessions. There are cobblestone and worn brick, a picturesque waterfront, and iconic landmarks like the Knoll Lighthouse. Jess, Mike and I took advantage of a gorgeous sunny spring day and explored Fells Point to find the perfect shots for their engagement session! As we were shooting, passers-by cheered them on and talked about how adorable they and their happy and energetic golden retriever pup Bailey were. The three of them looked like a perfect little family!
To celebrate Julie's daughter Isabella's fifth birthday, Julie decided to have mother daughter portraits made for the two of them! We had a bit of a challenge searching for locations in Hunt Valley to shoot the perfect portraits.
Valerie, Mike and I took a trip to Cloister's Castle for their fall engagement session! I had such a fun time shooting their engagement photos in such a unique setting and loved that they wanted something different for their location. We had a blast and Mike and Val were such great sports. They were up for anything! I can’t wait for their fall wedding coming up this October.
Today I'm sharing some things I've learned from my pregnancies that may help you out! I'm no expert, and this certainly isn't medical advice, but it might help out another mama in this stage of life! Plus, a few shots that I was so fortunate to get from Rosie Omar Photography!
Tracy and Noah are easily one of the most loving and faith-filled couples I've had the pleasure of working with. There has never been a couple more in love than these two! If there were ever two people who were ever "meant to be," it would be Noah and Tracy.
I love boudoir sessions - they give me the chance to help my clients feel beautiful and confident, and stretch my creative muscles to style the perfect shot! Recently, I was able to work with one of my oldest friends, Cait, to shoot a 1950's-inspired pin-up boudoir session, and the finished product is fierce!
I shot Kim and Nick's engagement session at Oregon Ridge on the most delightful fall afternoon. It was one of those crisp fall days that you wish could happen every day. They decided to bring along their fur-baby Tucker for the session, which added a whole other layer of fun! If the shots of Tucker's cute little face below don't make your heart melt, I don't know what will!
I'm absolutely in love with the stunning details of Jessica and Jesse's wedding! The two were married this spring at Our Lady of the Chesapeake and Anchor Inn in Pasadena, Maryland. Jessica's color palette was purple and ivory with gold and silver accents, which popped perfectly against the green and blue backdrop of Pasadena’s shorefront. I think Jessica’s floral hair piece deserves its own shout-out; it was absolutely gorgeous and incorporated the purple hue into her own look!
Lindsay and Lance celebrated their wedding at Nonantum Farm in Landenberg, PA in May. This charismatic couple truly have an incredible bond - their 'in-between' moments were just as, if not more, sweet and romantic than their actual portraits! They're a perfect match for each other, and that showed throughout their wedding.
Last fall on a brisk November day, Leslie, Dan, and I met at St. Mary's College of Maryland to shoot their engagement session. I have to say, St. Mary's College and Historic St. Mary's City have so many picturesque areas that I would happily drive another half a day to shoot more sessions there! We were able to take photos on a dock at a secluded beach AND frolic through fields all in the same session. Great day, if you ask me!
Happy Monday, everyone! It's been a while since I've done a Monday Mix-Up post, hasn't it? Honestly, I wasn't sure that people read it but I received a lot of feedback asking where these posts went! So thanks for actually reading these posts! ;)
Oh my...Caitlyn and Sean's 1840s Ballroom wedding couldn't have been more packed with stunning details that truly transported guests to the roaring 20s. From the cigar box floral decorations to the venue's nostalgic ambiance, this wedding was styled perfectly and definitely captured the magic of the 20s!
When my husband Chris and I first started planning our wedding, there were a lot of not-so-traditional ideas we wanted to incorporate into our wedding, from what everyone was wearing to the James Bond nod we kept for the reception. There were a lot of details about my wedding that I wanted to keep very untraditional and totally different than what I've seen before, so I threw the rulebook out of the window and ignored some wedding traditions to make my wedding more me.
When Angie reached out to me to shoot her engagement session with her fiance, Russ, I was instantly so excited to start working with them. Angie was my son Brody's kindergarten teacher, so I knew that she and I would have a great connection from the start. I'm beyond excited for Angie and Russ' wedding coming up in November!
When you sit down to write out your wedding to-do checklist, what's the first big to-do that pops into your head? Finding a wedding venue! If you're like most brides, starting the search for the perfect setting for your big day is pretty intimidating. Narrow down the front runners by asking yourself these questions while you sort through the seemingly countless options!
Stephanie and Jon tied the knot on a rainy April day at Lakeview Farms in Dover, Pennsylvania. Although the weather wasn't ideal, Stephanie and Jon's good spirits made the skies clear for a gorgeous golden hour for their portraits!
Going into business for myself was scary. I mean, really scary. Each decision feels like a make it or break it moment and, in my mind, one misstep could cause ten more potential problems. Of course, risks are just part of doing what you love, and without them there wouldn't be that "YES!" moment when you feel all of your hard work paying off. So, I thought I'd share with you some of those decisions that turned out to be turning points for my business, and helped me enjoy being my own boss!
Macy and Dave celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary in June, and I met with them to capture their anniversary photos at Hampton Mansion in Towson, MD! We spent a gorgeous summer day roaming the historic mansion and grounds, which turned out to be the perfect backdrop for Macy and Dave's session!
This adorable couple and I had an instant connection, which may have had something to do with our mutual obsession with Gilmore Girls!
There is so much to say about Andy and Becca! Let's get the obvious out the of way- they're a seriously photogenic couple! Becca is petite with the most amazing beachy blonde waves and Andy is preppy and has his own set of golden locks. I met them in high school and any memory I have of them includes them as a couple. It was only a matter of time until they got married and I'd say it was well worth the wait!
I met Katelynne and Jacob at Piney Run Park in Carroll County for their engagement session last fall. We were blessed by mother nature and had the most beautiful weather and stunning sunset for their session! I was thrilled when Katelynne called me what seems like years ago to book her wedding. She was so sweet and easy to talk to- I felt like I made an instant friend with her.
Last fall Katelyn and Jimmy tied the knot at Rockfield Manor! I wish I could hop in a time machine and go back to their wedding day. Jimmy and Katelyn definitely knew how to throw a good party! Their awesome playlist made everyone hit the dance floor. I loved seeing all their friends and family bust their dance moves. Wedding receptions always make the best stories ;)
Earlier this spring I had the pleasure of meeting Caroline and Travis at Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore for their engagement session. The sun was shinning bright and the gardens were DREAMY! Being surrounded by beautiful trees, luscious grass, and gorgeous flowering bushes was SO romantic. Clyburn Arboretum has become one of my favorite photography spots because of the gorgeous setting and tons of different areas to shoot in.

Annapolis you are my FAVORITE! I was ecstatic when Will and Theresa told me they wanted to do their engagement session in Annapolis! As I've said before, there's just something romantic and dreamy about getting photographed by the water. Trust me, romance was in the air during Will and Theresa's session. You can totally see how much they love each other by how much they laugh together. They were constantly giggling and smiling the whole time!

You might have noticed I have been doing a lot more sessions in Annapolis. I think that everyone looks better in Annapolis!! I love the boat docks, the ducks greeting everyone, and the nautical vibe. There's just something so romantic about taking photos by the water. I was SO excited when Lindsey and Daniel told me they wanted to do their engagement session in Annapolis!
There are many reasons why women decide to take the leap and have a boudoir session. Most women take boudoir photos as an anniversary present for their significant other, to celebrate a weight loss goal, or as present for their soon to be spouse on their wedding day. But Miss. W had a different reason. She felt like she needed a confidence boost and boudoir photography had always been she wanted to indulge in. Miss. W felt a little self conscious in her own skin. After gaining some weight and few stretch marks, she decided that it was time to start loving her body even if she wasn't her ideal weight. And I was SO delighted that she contacted me to join her on this journey!
Walking in a winter wonderland...or at least that's what Autumn and Garrett were hoping for!! Autumn had her heart set on being surrounded by snowflakes for her February wedding. But mother nature had other plans! The couple was blessed with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures in the 70s. It was the kind of weather all my summer brides are praying for!
Running your own creative business is TOTALLY worth it. But I would be lying if I told you it was easy. There are so many details to focus on from a business and creative perspective! Whenever I'm struggling with a particular task, I sit back and think, "There HAS to be an easier way to (fill in blank)". After some searching and brainstorming (and phone-ing a friend!), I usually find out that there is a way to make my life a tad easier. So today I'm telling you about some tools that have made some details of my business become effortless. FULL DISCLOSURE-I'm in NO way computer or technology savvy, but I definitely try my best ;)
Monday is here, again! Crazy how that keeps happening! Getting the blog out a little earlier than usual today because we're all headed to the zoo! It's spring break for Brody this week and we have something planned for almost ever day! I can already tell I'm going to need a nap...
I love romance! It’s SO inspirational to meet couples that finally found their soul mate. And then they choose ME to help capture one of the most important days of their lives! It’s a job I don’t take lightly folks ;) Today I’m telling you about how I was involved in a surprise proposal. You might have read about it on Love Inc.!
Oh friends, the time has come! Since today is 4 months since Chris and I got married, I figured it was a perfect excuse to share some of our wedding photos! I have shared a few here and there but today's the day! I tried not to pick too many... but you can be the judge of that! ;)
Today I'm sharing my top three reasons to have a first look with your fiancé! The first look is one of my most favorite parts of the wedding day and I'm talking about the benefits! I'm speaking from a personal and professional standpoint here since my husband and I chose to do the first look on our wedding day!
Spring = engagement sessions!! To get back in the swing of things, I’m throwing it back to Casey and Nate’s engagement last fall. They are getting married this June in Lancaster at the Cork Factory Hotel. Believe me folks, June will be here before we know it!
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting with Alexandra Kent for a mentoring session. Folks, this girl is going places!! I started mentoring sessions because I truly believe in following your passions in life. And let me tell you, Alex is eager to enhance and expand her photography career. She's a bubbly, super sweet photographer serving the Annapolis area. She loves Annapolis mainly for the nautical vibe (don't we all?!). Alex knew there can be challenges transitioning from portrait to wedding photography so we met at a coffee shop and got down to business!
Couples that DIY together stay together, right? I love that Jerrett & McKinsey worked TOGETHER to prepare all the details for their wedding day. Love was literally flowing from all the elements of their wedding. The 3 sweetest details at their wedding were…
It hit me yesterday evening. I knew it was coming up but hadn't gone back to check the exact date. Yesterday was the anniversary of me leaving my day job to go all in and pursue a photography career! It's been quite a journey and today I'll show you what that time looked like for me.
Good morning again, friends! Today is the first day of spring and I'd be lying if I told you I didn't wake up this morning feeling renewed and refreshed. Spring means a lot of things to a lot of people, but to me it means one thing today. FREE RITA'S ITALIAN ICE. I'm a mango ice girl, myself. Brody is a fan of cherry and I'm not sure what flavor Chris will go for this time. If there's one thing better than Rita's, it's Rita's you don't have to pay for. I love that they do this every year!
We all love those little survival kits that help you be deal with difficult situations. So why not invest in a human survival kit for your wedding?! Wedding planners will help you avoid all sorts of anxieties you might feel while planning the most important day of your life (as long as you LET them help you!).
Monday has come around yet again, friends! I think someone is speeding up time. In fact, I'm sure of it. So whoever you are, please stop it! ;) Have you ever been in one of those seasons of life where you feel like you just can't catch a break? I'm there now, but I'm thinking there's a light at the end of the tunnel coming soon!
The Monday Mix-Up was created to give you a glimpse into the life of the person behind this brand- me! I love sharing a recap of the past week, showing you what my little family has been up to, and where we've been going! Follow along!

Another week has come and gone! Back at it again this Monday morning. Feeling recharged from the lovely weather and my first wedding of the 2017 season! Leave me a comment and tell me how you spent this weekend!
Each time I go back to this gallery, I fall totally in love with this wedding all over again! Billy and Emily wanted to give their wedding guests a taste of Baltimore. They chose a warm September evening to get married on the top of Federal Hill. Overlooking the Inner Harbor, they said the vows with their closest family and friends nearby. Park-goers looked on during the ceremony and cheered when they were pronounced man and wife!
You might notice I did a little redecorating around my online home! I officially launched my new brand on Friday and am really thrilled about it. This new site feels a lot more like me. I've added sample galleries, lots of new content, and even something really exciting for creatives! This is something that has been on my heart for a really long time and I am ready to make it official. If you've just started a creative business or are thinking about it, let's have coffee! Having built this business from literally nothing and turning into something that provides for my family, brings me joy, and has fostered lasting friendships; I want that for you! Small business really sets my heart on fire. I'll be talking more about this in a later blog post so stay tuned!
Today I am sharing a gorgeous wedding from the summer! I worked with Amanda Summers Photography at Peter and Erin's wedding at Walker's Overlook in Frederick. Peter and Erin had a classic wedding with a rustic touch at this gorgeous venue. I've posted plenty of photos and revealed the reason I was sobbing behind my camera that day!
Now that January is halfway through, many couples have started planning their wedding and photography is almost always at the top of the list. As you're searching for the perfect photographer to capture your engagement and wedding, I think it's important to consider a few factors so here are my top three tips for choosing your wedding photographer!
I wish I had a great excuse for my absence here on the blog, but it's as simple as LIFE. Fall was absolutely crazy- a ton of weddings, engagements, families, and oh yeah- I got married, too! Planning a wedding during the craziest wedding season I've had was insane!
Hey friends. It's time to get real around here. Want to know why my blog has been extra quiet lately? I have been completely and totally overwhelmed. I'm sure you've been there too, right? I'm going to be a bit vulnerable and put it all out there today!
It's Monday! No... wait, it's Tuesday. But it feels like Monday. I'm confused. My brain doesn't know what day it is at all! I was convinced yesterday was Sunday, but that would have meant that I had two Sundays, a Saturday, and a Friday this weekend. I have no idea what's going on. Where am I? What day is it? Who are you? I kid, I kid! Because yesterday was Labor Day, I tried not to work too hard so I held off my Monday blogging until today!
Monday has come around again! And oh, what a Monday it will be! I woke up this morning feeling recharged after a really exhausting weekend and ready to take on the world! As I sat down with my morning coffee I started thinking about everything I wanted to accomplish this week.
Guess who's back, back again... Eminem always gets me ready for a Monday! Who's with me? I poured an extra cup of coffee this morning as I recover and reflect on this past week and everything that went on! "What happened", ya ask? Well let me tell you...
The Monday Mix-Up was born after months of me wanting to share little snippets about the goings-on around here! You'll find silly anecdotes, random facts, and get to learn more about the girl behind the camera and my family! And if you're lucky- a sneak peek at what I've been shooting lately!
There are so many details about their wedding day that made so wonderful. Marissa had both her mother and older sister in the bridal party and her mom was the maid of honor! She wore a veil in her hair that evening that she hand sewed antique lace on from her grandmother. Jeff and Marissa exchanged gifts; a watch for him, a charm bracelet for her. Right after Jeff's groom portraits, he took a minute to read the vows he wrote for his soon-to-be wife
The bridesmaids looked awesome in the sweet pink dresses Amanda had chosen and the guys looked perfect in their khaki suits. Amanda was glowing (and then some!) in her long sleeve lace gown that showed off their growing family! She had simple, classic details for her bridal look. She wore her hair long and curled with a simple veil. Rose gold earrings dangled from her ears and the nude stilettos she chose were perfect. But my favorite accessory was this girl's smile! Gosh, it's just so contagious! She really lights up a room.
