Stephanie and Jon tied the knot on a rainy April day at Lakeview Farms in Dover, Pennsylvania. Although the weather wasn't ideal, Stephanie and Jon's good spirits made the skies clear for a gorgeous golden hour for their portraits!
Going into business for myself was scary. I mean, really scary. Each decision feels like a make it or break it moment and, in my mind, one misstep could cause ten more potential problems. Of course, risks are just part of doing what you love, and without them there wouldn't be that "YES!" moment when you feel all of your hard work paying off. So, I thought I'd share with you some of those decisions that turned out to be turning points for my business, and helped me enjoy being my own boss!
Macy and Dave celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary in June, and I met with them to capture their anniversary photos at Hampton Mansion in Towson, MD! We spent a gorgeous summer day roaming the historic mansion and grounds, which turned out to be the perfect backdrop for Macy and Dave's session!
This adorable couple and I had an instant connection, which may have had something to do with our mutual obsession with Gilmore Girls!
Today you're SEVEN! Where have the years gone? This blog post is all about you, Brody! If you're reading this, please take the time to leave him some birthday wishes! He'd love to be 'famous'!!
Disclaimer: There are a TON of photos in this one to document this past year as a 6 year old, but they're so fun! I might be a little biased, though.
There is so much to say about Andy and Becca! Let's get the obvious out the of way- they're a seriously photogenic couple! Becca is petite with the most amazing beachy blonde waves and Andy is preppy and has his own set of golden locks. I met them in high school and any memory I have of them includes them as a couple. It was only a matter of time until they got married and I'd say it was well worth the wait!
I met Katelynne and Jacob at Piney Run Park in Carroll County for their engagement session last fall. We were blessed by mother nature and had the most beautiful weather and stunning sunset for their session! I was thrilled when Katelynne called me what seems like years ago to book her wedding. She was so sweet and easy to talk to- I felt like I made an instant friend with her.
Last fall Katelyn and Jimmy tied the knot at Rockfield Manor! I wish I could hop in a time machine and go back to their wedding day. Jimmy and Katelyn definitely knew how to throw a good party! Their awesome playlist made everyone hit the dance floor. I loved seeing all their friends and family bust their dance moves. Wedding receptions always make the best stories ;)
Earlier this spring I had the pleasure of meeting Caroline and Travis at Cylburn Arboretum in Baltimore for their engagement session. The sun was shinning bright and the gardens were DREAMY! Being surrounded by beautiful trees, luscious grass, and gorgeous flowering bushes was SO romantic. Clyburn Arboretum has become one of my favorite photography spots because of the gorgeous setting and tons of different areas to shoot in.

Maybe I should rewind a little bit. As soon as Chris and I got engaged, we knew that no matter what Amy and Jordan would be shooting our wedding.
You might have noticed I have been doing a lot more sessions in Annapolis. I think that everyone looks better in Annapolis!! I love the boat docks, the ducks greeting everyone, and the nautical vibe. There are many reasons why women decide to take the leap and have a boudoir session. Most women take boudoir photos as an anniversary present for their significant other, to celebrate a weight loss goal, or as present for their soon to be spouse on their wedding day. But Miss. W had a different reason. She felt like she needed a confidence boost and boudoir photography had always been she wanted to indulge in. Miss. W felt a little self conscious in her own skin. After gaining some weight and few stretch marks, she decided that it was time to start loving her body even if she wasn't her ideal weight. And I was SO delighted that she contacted me to join her on this journey!
It was a steaming HOT day for Sierra and Nick's engagement session!! We were roasting in the 95-degree heat, but we didn't let that stop us! Nick and Sierra wanted to have their engagement photographs taken on a beautiful piece of property in Calvert County. Their family owned this property so Sierra and Nick knew that it would be the PERFECT spot and totally unique to them.
As gorgeous as this field was, it was crawling with spiders and I'm sure there were snakes lurking! Yikes!! Sierra brought a beautiful quilt made by her great grandmother to use in their session. I'm a sucker for little details and heirlooms, and I was in LOVE with this quilt! I always encourage couples to bring sentimental props to their engagement session. I know that Sierra and Nick will be sharing these photos and that quilt with their future kids and grandkids.
Nick and Sierra also brought along Dixie, their sweet dog! It was so nice meeting her and she was SO photogenic. I met them a few miles away from the property and Nick drove the rest of the way. Riding in the back of the truck with Dixie was definitely a highlight of my day! Dixie was also the flower girl in their wedding and she was so precious! She also covered the inside of my Jeep with muddy paw prints, but that's another story for another day ;)
Sierra is a nurse and Nick is a firefighter, which means they're a match made in heaven! You can totally see how much Nick and Sierra adore each other. They're an active couple and always seem like they're on the go! Whether they're washing vehicles at the firehouse, heading out on a hike with the pup, or getting their boat in the water, they have a great time just doing life together. Nick and Sierra, thank you for letting me capture this amazing day for you!
Baby goats, parking garages, The Wizard of Oz, and collard greens. What do they all have in common?
Walking in a winter wonderland...or at least that's what Autumn and Garrett were hoping for!! Autumn had her heart set on being surrounded by snowflakes for her February wedding. But mother nature had other plans! The couple was blessed with lots of sunshine and warm temperatures in the 70s. It was the kind of weather all my summer brides are praying for!
